Health coaching is about making lifestyle changes to optimize your health. Yet change can feel like walking a tightrope over unknown terrain. A health coach is your partner in change, together we set goals for deep health by cultivating self-awareness, vetting out your vision of health, making progressive changes with sustainable results, and prioritizing effectively. We explore resistance with curiosity, and test beliefs against reality. We work on finding your “stress sweetspot” and your “recovery zones”. Your health depends on it.

Deep health involves your physical body, your mental capacity, your emotional regulation, your social aptitude, your existential beliefs, and your environment. And all play a part in bringing your big bold health goals to life.

It is so rare for us to give ourselves even an hour in our lives to really work through a process to improve our health with a trained professional. Imagine doing that every week until you have reached your goals. It’s an opportunity like no other you have experienced in life.

Whether you only have time for a session or two, or you can dedicate 12 weeks of sessions to working through the change process, we work with your schedule.

Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery (Certified Area of Specialty)

Sleep is the ultimate way to recover from all types of stressors. Explore the science of sleep, and basic habits consistently applied, that can improve your sleep and make your days full of more energy and focus.

Stressors can be physical (heavy lifting), or mental (processing and interpreting a lot of data or prioritizing and making tough decisions), or emotional (when emotions are very strong and there’s no place or space for expression). There can be social stressors (feeling devalued, harmed or rejected by others), or existential stressors (when we experience a difficult life transition or crisis of meaning), or environmental stressors (from small irritants to the skin to effects from the sun). Assess which stressors are taking the most out of you, and develop strategies to resolve stress, develop resilience and coping competency.

Recovery is an essential part of life, such as from nutritional stress when we eat poorly, challenging sports, stress management and adapting to change. We often continue to try to get more and more from our bodies and minds without phasing in recovery strategies to allow time to restore energy and focus and come back stronger. Which brings us full circle back to sleep, the one recovery tool that crosses all areas of need for restoration.

Whether your work is on the stock market floor, as a chef in a restaurant, behind a remote desktop, raising children, working a factory floor, or volunteering in your local food bank, you work hard to serve others. Yet you still love your sport, the game of basketball, an early morning run, cycling through the mountains, hiking the trails, walking the dog every day. Sports capture the imagination, create peace of mind, promote physical health, develop a sense of teamwork, and a type of challenge and discipline that fulfills purpose in life. The athlete in you desires a proportionate place.

This program is ideally accomplished in 12 weekly sessions and is designed to help you find the right proportions of work and sports in your life. Assessment of health, imbalances, barriers, developing responsibility and ownership, diversifying your training, creating longevity in your sport.
